CSF 2024 Solar Series Event Calendar
April – Solar and Managing Your Prairie Plants
Date: Friday, April 26, 2024 4:30pm-6:30pm
This event will be at the Deerfield Wastewater Treatment Plant array. Participants will learn how to prepare prairie plantings for spring and learn about pollinators in and around the solar array. You don’t have to own a prairie to have prairie plants! Refreshments will focus on items that are only possible through pollinators. Bring gloves, garden clippers and a folding chair or blanket.
Food and drinks available. This event is free and open to the public.
May – Solstock Fundraiser Concert
Date: Friday, May 31, 2024 3pm-9pm
Topic: Join us for our 3rd Annual Fundraising Concert. It’s bigger and better than ever.

MREA Energy Fair
Date: June 21-22, 2024
June is always the Energy Fair in Custer, WI. If you haven’t gone yet, make sure you add it to your calendar this year. We will be exhibiting under the MREA Solar Pavilion both days. Please come check us out!
Note: This is not a free event but when you attend you support the Midwest Renewable Energy Association, an excellent organization promoting renewable energy and sustainability in our region. There are workshops, great speakers and lots of fun activities for the entire family. To register go to the MREA Energy Fair website.

August – 1st Annual WI EV Road Trip
Finish Line Celebration
Date: Saturday, August 10, 2024 4:30pm-7:30pm
This event is in partnership with one of our 2024 Solar Series Sponsors, the WI EV Association. If you love a good road trip and you have an EV, this is for you. Starting on Friday, August 9, joining the road trip allows you and 3 friends to travel to great cities around Wisconsin, and ends at our offices in Deerfield, where there will be a short presentation, food and some great conversation with fellow travelers.
Ben Behlke, from RENEW WI will be there to talk about Wisconsin’s progress in EV Charging stations around the state.
Food and drinks available. There is a fee to participate in the Road Trip. Go to the Wisconsin EV Association Road Trip site for more details and to register. Deadline to register to participate in the Road Trip is Friday, July 26.
September – Deerfield Local Events
Chili Cookoff (Downtown Deerfield) Date: Saturday, Sept 28, 2024
September will be devoted to supporting our local community. CSF will have a table at the popular local event, the Chili Cookoff hosted by the Deerfield Lions Club. We hope you’ll come visit us on those days.
October – How Solar Supports Emergency Preparedness
Date & Location: Tuesday, Oct 22, 2024, 3:30-5pm MREA Campus in Custer, WI
This unique event will cover a variety of topics on emergency preparedness and how solar can support community resilience. We will hear from the Portage County Emergency Preparedness Director, Bob Weinert and Jackie Harrison-Jewell will talk briefly about the use of solar in community resilience centers. As a special addition to the agenda, Al Buss, from the Vernon County Energy District will talk about how to create an energy district in your area.
This event will be held in the Stevens Point area. The event is free and open to the public, but registration is requested to help us gauge attendance. Please email Director@CouillardSolarFoundation.org to register for this event.
