Deerfield Solar Tour Site 5: Deerfield Fire Department
Installed Spring 2022 – 33.8 kW
Array powers the Deerfield Fire Station
Installer: Cris Folk
This beautiful pavilion is the next version of the CSF Solar Canopy. Installed on a concrete slab designed to withstand the weight of the pavilion and canopy, this pavilion provides a location for community events as well as power to the fire station.
The pavilion was easy to install. The substructure, built by Glenville Timberwrights, was built in 1 day with three people and a crane.
The canopy beams, the structure that holds the panels together, was installed in 4 hours.
And the panels slide into slots in the specially designed beams. This holds them firmly in place and creates a nearly weatherproof roof.
This pavilion is the same size as one recently installed at the Pine View Elementary School in Reedsburg WI. That installation will be used as an outdoor classroom providing power for the school as well as a sheltered site for many different kinds of classes.
That pavilion was installed by All Sky Energy.
